The Evolution Man or How I ate my Father by Roy Lewis

The Evolution Man or How I ate my Father  by Roy Lewis is a hilarious fictional story about early man as he rises to become the dominant species on the planet. Imagine Jerry Seinfeld as your high school Science teacher explaining the evolution of man from ape.
The story is told from Earnest, an ape in the tribe of his father, who watches him evolve man by inventive experiments using fire, social displacement and early weaponry. This comedy of sorts has the reader laughing at the cause and effect of a man’s transformation from swinging from the trees to walking upright.
Laugh out loud fun, this is definitely a weekend read. Short, sweet and hilariously funny, The Evolution Man or How I ate my Father is a must read for an afternoon away from the seriousness of the world. A definite purchase where ever it can be found.

The Emperor’s Tomb by Steve Berry

Normally Steve Berry dazzles readers with a brief history lesson  in all of his works of fiction, but in The Emperor’s Tomb, Steve Berry’s take on hard line issues concerning oil and the tense relations between the US and China leave this story long and drawn out.
Berry revives the characters of Cotton Malone and Cassiopeia Vitt as they are pitted between warring factions within the Chinese Government in a harrowing adventure involving not only the Russians, but the CIA. In a battle against time and a secret that could unravel relations between the industrialized nations in a race for oil and world dominance, leaves you wishing that the story would be faster paced instead of long and wanting.
The Emperor’s Tomb is a resale shops perfect book. Recommend picking up at a used book store, rummage sale or borrow from a friend. Would not waste the $9.99 to purchase new.
