The Help by Kathryn Stockett

One, three syllable word best describes The Help; Wonderful!  Kathryn Stockett has reminded us about the difficulties of life for a black woman working as the hired help living in Jackson, Mississippi during the civil rights movement.
This poignant tale of fiction is wickedly funny and jaw-dropping serious. This heartfelt story is about 3 women from opposite sides of the track and how they decide to take a dangerous stance and expose a dirty secret of white society during a difficult time in our nation’s history.
A must read for everyone. The Help is by far, an exciting story from all sides of the spectrum-entertaining and inspiring, this beautiful work of fiction can teach us that what can divide us, can also bring us closer together.
5 JAGS...a definite book club contender.
